Mined & Forrest are no other than Mined from Obba Select and Forrest Funk.
Inspired by classic funk, modern bass design and hiphop sampling they teamed up to bring their musical ideas together.
Spending lots of time in the studio turning knobs and hitting keys, they now have a bunch of funky tunes ready to hit the dancefloors out
Their debut EP „There it is“ was released via Breakbeat Paradise Recordings, an internationally known music label.
Followed by remixes for Lack Jemmon, Jack & Jointz, Discobeta, Captain Flatcap and Ken.
Their second EP "Coming Through" was released April 2019 via Breakbeat Paradise Recordings. Featuring great artists like Stephanie Lottermoser, LAWN, Eve Lamell, Blockboy and Funkanizer.
Review from monkeyboxing:
Stand aside please,
Mined & Forrest coming through with – er – Coming Through, the follow-up to their previous extended play effort on Breakbeat Paradise – There It Is. And while they might sound like some sort of psychic detective duo, their work is rather more grounded in solid twenty-first breakbeat music.
The title cut is mid-tempo Snoop n strings-assisted synth businessfollowed by the similarly synth-rich but more lively Lyte-augmented Rock On and glitchy downtempo-ish collabo I Would Fall featuring LAWN, Stephanie Lottermoser, Eve Lamell and a bit of 80s saxophone.
The balance of this five-tracker is made up of a brace of remixes – the emo-breaks of Blockboy’s take on I Would Fall (a game of two halves that starts out glitchily before upping gear into a more epic strings-based instrumental beat), and Funkanizer’s lively rerub of Funk Toxic.

Review from Life Support Machine:
"Mined & Forrest’s 4 track EP is made up of 3 tracks from themselves and a remix of the title track off the EP from, Jayl Funk. ‘There It Is’ by Mined & Forrest, is a midtempo Breaks influenced slice of liquid Funk that flows direct to your mind and instantly lifts your mood. The next 2 tracks, the horn driven ‘Funk Toxic’ and the glitched out ‘Drugs’, are both absolute beasts and should be approached with caution as dropping either of them in a set will get that dance floor hyped! Jayl Funk’s remix of ‘There It Is’ is a smooth as you like and his funky touch is something we always dig here on the ward."
